Development Management Officers (Senior) x 2 Posts – both Permanent
We have an some exciting opportunity for two senior town planners with development management experience. Based in the historic city of Cambridge, and working across the diverse county of Cambridgeshire, you will join a friendly and busy team which is expanding and rising to the challenge of delivering an ambitious and wide ranging growth agenda.
We are looking for planners, ideally with a minimum of 4 years planning development management experience, a strong work ethic, and qualified to MRTPI standard.
You will manage a diverse range of planning applications, offering you experience in dealing with the County Council’s own development proposals. This will include proposals for new infrastructure in major new development areas including new settlements, such as new schools and roads.
In addition you will handle mineral and waste management planning applications which will provide the materials for growth, and deliver more sustainable waste management.
Some of these proposals will be major and will require Environmental Impact Assessment.
As a senior member of the team you will have the skills necessary to manage your own casework, including good communication and negotiation skills. You will be able to deal with a variety of customers, and have a sound background in report writing and presentations, including at Planning Committee.
