Divisional Director – Adult Services Transformation
London

Up to £120K

The London Borough of Newham is picking up pace in performance and is aiming for excellence. At the heart of London’s east end, our borough is unique, our population is diverse and we offer a vibrant place in which to work. Graeme Betts has been appointed as our new Executive Director Adults, Community and Leisure and is driving Newham’s ambitious vision for individuals, families and communities.

Our 2009 APA rated Adult Social Care as performing well across all seven outcomes. As the Divisional Director – Adult Services Transformation you will take the lead in transforming Adult Social Care on behalf of the Council, ensuring that we offer independence, choice and control. You will provide strategic leadership across the full range of client groups, working in partnership to support vulnerable adults as well as ensuring that all citizens, whatever their needs, have access to universal services which guarantee that ‘Every Adult Matters’ in Newham.

We are open as to your background but we expect you to come with an in-depth understanding of the national policy agenda for Adult Social Care. You will be an accomplished leader with a passion for improving people’s lives and the creativity to drive innovation in challenging circumstances. As a strategic operator, you will be inspirational, exceptional and committed to building effective partnerships for the benefit of our residents. This is a challenging role in a constantly changing environment – but with the corporate and political commitment to make it a success.
