A Driver Attendant is required to work within Learning Disability Day Care or Community bases. This will involve working with adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities with complex needs, through to offering support in the community for adults who live independently.
Primarily the position is to provide transport cover, enabling service users to access Learning Disability Day Care Centres, Community Bases and community activities, also assisting within the Learning Disability Day Care Service in supporting vulnerable adults working towards fulfilling meaningful lives. The successful applicants should also be prepared to assist with on site and community activities, both within the day centre and community bases, whilst also being aware of service users’ personal, physical and emotional needs
All applicants must hold a full, clean, category D1 licence. You should also have experience, or an understanding, of the safe transportation of wheelchairs and be able to show experience of working on your own initiative and of working within a learning disability setting with adults with a moderate to severe learning disability including complex needs.
The successful applicant will be part of committed teams working to enhance the lives of people with a learning disability, while at the same time working through the Learning Disabilities Day Service Modernisation Program.
