Islington Council are currently recruiting into the following post, Electrician, to work within its Housing Repairs Service. In August 2014 Islington Council brought its Repairs Service fully in-house. With 250 staff, working in a wide scope of roles. This is one of the largest in-house operations of any London Council. The future success of this project is reliant on the people that strive to allow the service to function efficiently, with a focus on customer care and excellence in all areas of the service delivery. Working as part of the In-house workforce you will be responsible to support the delivery of quality repairs to ensure decent and suitable housing working as part of a team carrying out works l Electrical & associated but not limited, to maintenance works of all types of LBI managed properties and social spaces as scheduled or directed by the supervisor. You will be responsible to ensure you work in a safe manner delivering high quality repairs, complying with legal regulations and company policy and best practice procedures. Your expertise and experience will enable you to make recommendations for additional works as necessary. You will liaise with tenants clearly and concisely to ensure delivery of a cost effective, efficient, customer focused service. You will be a highly organised individual who has completed a City & Guilds Apprenticeship, trained Electrician with Level 2 Electrical, Installation Part 1 and Level 3 Electrical Installation Part 2, Level 3 Electrotechnical Servicing Electrical installation. Holds a Blue Craft CSCS Card or have the required qualifications, capacity and willingness to complete the safety test and obtain the relevant CSCS card prior to starting employment. You will be expected to be able to communicate in writing in order to maintain records of materials used, complete job sheets and requisitions, to use a PDA’s and follow written instructions, procedures and policies. You will have a current understanding of onsite Health and Safety legislation. Additional training will include skills around customer services, equalities, safeguarding etc. Your work will be a driving influence in delivering better service outcomes for residents. This post requires a clean driving license. This role will require you obtain an Enhanced satisfactory clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
