This post provides Emergency Planning and Business Continuity guidance, advice, resilience and support to the council in order to react and co-ordinate resources in times of emergency (this can be in or out of normal office hours). The successful candidate will support the council in all aspects of emergency planning and service disruptions.
Examples of situations that may require officer involvement include problems due to severe weather (snow, flooding, and damage due to high winds), electricity cuts, getting people to safety and finding emergency accommodation for them.
The post holder will work with all departments and Senior Managers to ensure that Business Continuity plans are robust as well as undertake regular reviews and commission training for staff.
