Job Summary

Energy Strategy Officer

PO3: Starting salary £35,055 pa rising in annual increments to £37,851 pa incl. LW.

Lambeth Council has a strong track record delivering sustainable development, particularly in promoting sustainable design, renewable energy and energy efficiency. We presently need an Energy Strategy Officer to lead work on energy efficiency and reduction of fuel poverty in Lambeth.

The Energy Strategy Officer will lead on the promotion of a wide portfolio of projects to promote energy efficiency in both public and private housing in Lambeth. Lambeth Council has a clear policy commitment on fuel poverty reduction, which with rising fuel prices is an issue affecting increasing numbers of Lambeth’s residents. Your knowledge of energy efficiency grants, delivery mechanisms via partnership working and a keen awareness of target groups will help to drive forward our fuel poverty strategy.

We are looking for someone with a clear understanding of energy efficiency and fuel poverty, and a proven record of managing projects with close attention to detail. Good analytical and problem solving skills are needed to develop initiatives, bid for grants and work positively with partner agencies to deliver this critical agenda. The role involves working with partners, appointing consultants, managing data and planning and delivering projects. Reviewing the opportunities emerging from the Green Deal and developing Lambeth’s approach will be a core task.

This is an opportunity to further enhance your strong project management and presentation skills. There is opportunity here to be innovative in your approach to project development. You will play the key role in delivering Lambeth’s fuel poverty strategy, and promoting improved energy efficiency across the borough.
