Leading Change to Drive Improvement

Following in-sourcing of ICT Support Services, Hackney is now looking for dedicated ICT professionals with the skills, experience and ambition to help re-shape the way we deliver our services. This will be challenging work with the need to improve value for money, performance and efficiency across the full range of ICT services – but for the right people, this provides exciting opportunities to make a real and significant contribution to improved delivery of Council services to the people of Hackney.

The Role

Provide and maintain up to date knowledge of all aspects of the Enterprise Architecture including both the business services/processes that it supports and the enabling ICT services – infrastructure, voice and data networks, business applications, application architectures, data models and the relationships between all of the various elements.

The Requirements

Experience of designing enterprise wide technical solutions/models in a large and complex organisation and successfully managing significant ICT infrastructure and/or applications projects with up to £5million budget and multi-functional project teams of up to 20 stakeholders.

Acting as the Council’s lead for recording and designing the Enterprise Architecture and associated standards, you will need to approve changes, monitor compliance and proactively identify and recommend opportunities for improvement.

The Individual

We are looking for commitment to service improvement based on best practice, coupled with customer-orientated service delivery. Able to deal with conflicting priorities in an environment of constant change, your experience of cross organisational working and flair for building positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders will equip you well for this role.

With relevant professional experience, you will have good knowledge, ideally with certification, of best practice Enterprise Architecture framework/standards such as TOGAF, MODAF or Zachman.

Additional Information

At Hackney we will develop and equip you with the right skills to progress in our organisation. We offer a wide selection of work-life benefits including financial support for professional qualifications, final salary pension, 27 days annual leave (+ 5 days after 5 years), flexi leave and flexible working hours.

Hackney ICT systems are supported 0800–1900. Contractual hours are 36 per week but you will also need flexibility to carry out evening and weekend work as required relevant to the duties of the post.

Interviews/Assessment date: Thursday 6 and Friday 7 June 2013

Please submit a CV and/or brief Supporting Statement showing how your skills, knowledge and experience meet the person specification of the post.
