Medway Family Intervention Project (FIP)
Fixed term initially to March 2011
Secondment Opportunities Welcome
Medway Council received funding last year from Dept Children Schools and Families (DCSF) to establish a new Family Intervention Project (FIP) as part of the Youth Crime Action Plan reforms and national roll out of FIPs. Due to recent success in bids for further funds from the Housing Challenge Fund we are now seeking to expand this team and recruit a further three highly skilled and experienced staff who have knowledge and skills in working intensively with families who present a range of multiple and complex needs. This new funding will bring Medway Council Children and Adult Services into partnership with the leading local social housing providers in order to provide intensive tenancy support to families experiencing a range of problems.
You will be proactive, task orientated and able to demonstrate initiative and resilience to work intensively in supporting targeted families to make progress in meeting set goals. The Senior FIP Officers will be required to have experience of staff supervision as well as managing a caseload. Experience of multi agency working will be essential for all posts.
- Please note funding for all positions is fixed initially to March 2011. It is expected further funding announcements will be made later this year
