Family Action has been building stronger families since 1869, and today works with over 45,000 families and children through 120 community based services. Thousands more are supported with financial assistance through education and welfare grants programmes.
Families First is an exciting partnership with London Borough of Islington to support families with children age 5-19. This dynamic Early Help outreach service provides practical support to families with the full range of issues they face. Family Action are currently looking for individuals who are passionate about offering Early Help to families through assertive outreach and practical support.
You will have experience of supporting children and families to enable them to make and maintain positive change. You will have an NVQ 3 or equivalent relevant qualification with excellent communication skills. You will provide focused short term and intensive support to families in their homes as well as in the community. You will act as lead professional for your families, utilising a multi-agency "team around the family" approach, and co-facilitating parenting programmes. You will actively support the service to engage and involve all families and to develop creatively in response to their needs.
