Do you passionately believe in providing early intervention services for children and families that improve their life chances?
Are you a committed practitioner with proven experience working with vulnerable families and children?
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of new multi-disciplinary Children’s Action Teams, set up in localities to provide effective interventions to help Children and Young People achieve good outcomes. We need motivated and committed practitioners, with experience of working with families and children, to be a part of an innovative and enthusiastic new team. These are new posts that have been set up to ensure children, young people and their families have access to help and support quickly within their community.
The roles will be aimed at achieving change through preventative early intervention, and will involve opportunities for individual and group work in family’s homes and working in partnership with children’s centres, schools and other agencies.
You will work closely with other staff in the Children’s Action Team, such as Health Visitors, Primary Mental Health Workers and Education Welfare Officers, to develop tailored support packages and work with children and families to enable them to fulfil their full potential. We are looking for confident, skilled and committed staff; in return we can offer training, mentoring, supervision and the chance to work in an innovative service.
The posts will be based in one of four locations within Reading.
A Criminal Records Disclosure will be sought from the successful candidates.
Closing date: 17 October 2008
Interview date: 4 November 2008
