Female Support Worker – Bengali Speaker
Based at Beverley Lewis House, ‘Safe House’ for women with Learning Disabilities, based in East London.

37 Hours per Week
Beverley Lewis House (BLH) is a specialist housing project, which provides a safe environment for women with learning disabilities, who might have additional or complex needs. Women living at BLH may have experienced domestic violence and/or abuse past or present. This is the only project of it’s kind in Europe. Working with this client group is both challenging and immensely rewarding.
The successful candidates will have experience of working with people in a therapeutic environment and facilitating groups to develop independence skills in day to day living ad must be able to speak ad understand Bengali. This could be in a wide range of settings.
The successful candidate will have an intervention approach to tenants needs and aspirations. Candidates will have to demonstrate the ability to work with a variety of needs, motivate and empower women to grow in self-esteem and confidence to work through issues resulting from the abuse. The effects of abuse might cause the woman to challenge services and successful candidates will need to utilise appropriate interventions to diffuse situations effectively.
Working hours include shifts, weekends, bank holidays and waking nights.
