Graduate Parks and Streetscene Officer

Calderdale in Pennine Yorkshire is an area of rich cultural heritage, impressive architecture, stunning landscapes and charming towns and villages. With excellent road and rail links, and within easy reach of Leeds and Manchester, Calderdale is a great place to live, work and visit.

You will gain experience in many aspects of the Service which includes Parks, Grounds Maintenance, Allotments, Countryside and Forestry and Street Cleansing. You will contribute to the development of the Service by researching innovative methods of service provision to meet customer expectations.

We’re looking for genuine commitment to excellent public open space provision coupled with strong interpersonal, IT and problem solving skills. Experience of Geographical Information Systems is desirable but not essential as training will be given. You will take on projects and/or research and be willing to work outdoors where appropriate. You must have experience of undertaking research; this could have been in an educational setting and have a degree level environmental qualification or equivalent. You must also be willing to undertake further study in appropriate areas and must be willing and able to work occasional unsociable hours including weekends evenings and bank holidays.
