Graduate Trainee Social Worker

This is an exiting opportunity for people who have already been offered a place, or can gain a place, on an MA in Social Work at a local university starting in September/October 2008 or January 2009.

Doncaster Metropolitan Council in Partnership with the Children’s Workforce Development Council is developing a Graduate Trainee Social Worker Scheme.

We would like to invite people who have been offered a place on an MA in Social Work to apply to be part of our project. You will have a 2.1 in a first degree (any subject) and not be working in a social work/care setting.

You would be employed as a social work assistant whilst undertaking your training. We would pay you a salary, course fees, books and travel expenses. In return you will be expected to work for us as a qualified social worker in a children’s setting for at least two years.
