Greenspaces Officer

The Greenspaces Officer is responsible for ensuring that County Council owned Local Nature Reserves are maintained allowing for enhancement of their accessibility and biodiversity.

You will encourage and support local communities to access and assist with management of County Council Local Nature Reserves.
You must be able to identify opportunities for delivery of the green infrastructure strategy through planning policy and development.

Environment Policy and Projects is a wide-ranging service, engaging colleagues across the Council and the wider community in initiatives to tackle climate change, promote sustainable growth and protect and enhance our environment.

We lead on the development of the new Climate Change and Environment Strategy, and on the Council’s workplace travel strategy and plans.

We host or support the County’s environmental partnerships including the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Biodiversity Partnership, which works to deliver the Local Biodiversity Action Plan.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of conservation site management, experience of community development, running events and workshops and excellent communication skills.
