As a Group Manager you will be working at the forefront of best practice.
The First Response and Emergency Duty Team (FREDT) is the ‘front door’ of Cambridgeshire’s Children’s Social Care (CSC) and works within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The vision for FREDT is to provide an effective, responsive service to those seeking assistance for vulnerable children and families and to ensure safeguarding needs are addressed effectively at the earliest stage of contact.
As a Group Manager you will be providing leadership for the service and managing the First Response and Emergency Duty Team to ensure high quality service provision. You will establish objectives for the service, develop plans, identify resources and mobilise staff to meet those objectives.
You will also working collaboratively with other managers, professionals and partners to ensure effective service delivery within the MASH and will be line managing the First Response and Emergency Duty Team Managers and joint managing the Locality Advisors.
This role provides an opportunity for an experienced social worker with a high level of expertise to shape children’s social work in a Local Authority at the forefront of innovative social work. You will have extensive management experience; strong evidence based professional knowledge and a sound grasp on finances and budget management.
Candidates should have good knowledge of childcare legislation, a proven ability to implement effective interventions with children and families and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. A confident practitioner, you will be able to think and act creatively to achieve best outcomes for children and families.
You need to be, dynamic, innovative, committed and passionate; you’ll bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to the challenge of working with vulnerable children and families. Your strong leadership skills will enable you to support and develop others as well as being a role model for good social work practice, ensuring the very best outcomes for children in Cambridgeshire.

Candidates must hold a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) recognised social work qualification, be HCPC registered and have evidence of continuing professional development pursuant to a specialist level of knowledge.
