In this influential role you’ll take a strategic lead across a diverse range of contracts relating to children’s services, adult services, public health, IT and corporate contracts, working with clients in different locations across both boroughs.
You’ll take an innovative and strategic approach to ensure that the procurement and management of these contracts achieves best value.
Key to your success will be your ability to drive service improvement, modernise working practices and embed a more commercial approach. This will include identifying opportunities to reduce cost, enhance contract performance and generate income.
Through clear and supportive leadership, you’ll guide and empower your team to work pro-actively with key stakeholders in raising the profile of the service so it is positioned to deliver better outcomes.
All the time you will place a high emphasis on excellent customer care and collaborative working – ensuring the procurement service is recognised as a key oneSource partner and is able to fully maximise its contribution.
Ideally you will be CIPS qualified, or be willing to work towards this and have experience in the procurement of a similar range of contracts, together with a sound knowledge of relevant legislation and knowledge, or experience, of a category management approach.
You’ll be adept in working with other stakeholders and ensuring a high level of customer care.
Furthermore, you will be an innovative and commercially minded manager with a demonstrable track record of success in change management and driving service improvement.
