From Vision to Delivery

Croydon is strategically placed to be a major force for investment and transformation in London and the South East. The council has ambitious plans for significant growth and has the strong support of the London Mayor and other strategic partners to deliver it over the next 20 years.

Croydon Council understands the challenge it faces in delivering this exciting programme and has assembled a strong planning team to do so. The organisation from the Chief Executive, Jon Rouse, downwards fully supports the need to make planning for this ambitious change central to the operation of the council.

You will find a council committed to spatial planning and sees it as central in taking the borough forward. You’ll be at the heart of delivering what is often referred to as “project Croydon” and will find a working environment that is vibrant and innovative.

You will make a name for yourself at the head of a newly formed service that has been designed to truly deliver spatial planning in an integrated and delivery focused way. We need a Head of Spatial Planning who can be a champion for Croydon’s future.

You will spearhead the council’s local development framework and lead one of the capital’s largest and most effective urban design and plan making services. The council and its partners have high ambitions for transforming Croydon town centre, and for cherishing the borough’s surprising range of historic built and natural assets.

As Head of Spatial Planning, you could help transform both the image and reality of Croydon. If this challenge has whetted your appetite, then get in touch and find out more.

Closing date: 28 March 2010.
