Head/Professor of Engineering

The University has a rich heritage in providing Engineering education, indeed the roots of the University of Wolverhampton lie in the 19th century growth of Mechanics Institutes, providing vocational and general education for working people. Now in the 21st century the University is positioning itself to be a leader in the provision of STEM subjects and to expand its provision in Engineering.

A Head of Engineering (with professorial status where this is commensurate with research experience and output) is now sought to provide dynamic leadership to support developments within the School and the University, to fill a recently vacated position that has arisen as a consequence of promotion. We seek a candidate with a world-leading research profile and subject expertise in engineering discipline(s) aligned with the aerospace and automotive industrial sectors.

The person appointed will:

• lead our Engineering Department staff and contribute to the growth, development and management of a sustainable portfolio of professional accredited engineering undergraduate and postgraduate courses (UK-based and overseas); and
• continue to grow research and business engagement activity aligned with the engineering department’s curriculum
