Required for September 2010
These are exciting times for the Royal Docks Community School which is about to become a Trust School in partnership with the Cooperative College and the University of East London. Whilst currently in Special Measures a recent Ofsted monitoring visit has remarked “Teachers have successfully created supportive learning environments … with good relationships and mutual respect very evident.” This is reflected in improved academic standards.
This 8 form entry school situated in Docklands close to the Excel Centre and City Airport has a strong inclusive philosophy with resource provision for PMLD students. It occupies striking buildings dating from 2000, which will be further developed as part of Newham’s BSF programme.
The Governors welcome applications from outstanding candidates who:
• have a proven track record of leadership in a similar school
● are experienced professionals, committed to promoting high standards of education, providing a high quality teaching and learning experience for all students, valuing all students as individuals and raising their aspirations
● are strong leaders, with the ability to motivate staff and students to achieve their full potential
● have a commitment to inclusion & ensuring students are at the heart of the learning process
