We are looking to appoint a full time Health and Safety officer to support in health and safety matters and monitor and maintain health and safety compliance across the Schools of Construction and Applied Science.
The post holder will be experienced at undertaking and analysing health and safety risk assessments and will be responsible for ensuring compliance in both schools. They will also support the teaching staff in ensuring students are fully aware and compliant with regard to health and safety.
Candidates must have excellent communication skills and experience of risk assessment within construction or engineering related industry or service. Candidates must have excellent attention to detail and be highly organised. Experience of completing health and safety paperwork and administration is essential. Hours of work will be flexible and according to demand. Please note that the School of Construction and School of Applied Science work across multiple campus sites across Newcastle.
The successful candidate will have experience of health and safety within a construction or engineering related industry and have a relevant Level 3 vocational/technical qualification in this area, or equivalent NEBOSH Certificate.
