You will work alongside the Health and Safety Consultant and help to ensure that elected members and senior managers provide well-informed leadership, so that the council can deliver its wide range of services safely. You will also provide practical help to busy employees and partners at all levels to enable them to improve their understanding of how they can improve services by preventing injuries and illness.
Professional qualifications to the standard of Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent are essential. You will also need experience of managing a wide range of risks in a large complex organisation and a commitment to learn more.
