North East Lincolnshire Council is currently seeking to appoint a Health and Safety Officer who will report directly to the Occupational Health & Safety Manager. Possessing the NEBOSH (National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health) qualification as a minimum. You will be a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, having the ability to build and maintain good working relationships.

This is a wide-ranging role and you will be expected to undertake a variety of health and safety related work across the organisation including the provision of competent advice, guidance and support with all Council Directorates, Schools and Partners, and develop and review policies, procedures and standards to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice. You will also conduct assessments, audits, inspections and investigations as well as research, set up and deliver health & safety related training.

Previous experience of working within a health and safety role, possession of a working knowledge of current and proposed health and safety legislation, an understanding of asbestos and hand arm vibration related issues, along with effective influencing skills would be distinct advantages for the position.
