Here at Bexley, we’ve earned a reputation as an efficient, well-managed authority with a strong commitment to customer care, employee development and diversity. The reason for this is simple: we are always ready to try out new ideas, and to work with talented new people.
We need a strong team player to assist the Departments Area Teams in providing quality and value for money services, including highways maintenance, technical safety inspections, reactive highway repairs, street cleansing, gully cleansing and refuse collection services.
The work is varied and interesting and involves taking pride and ownership of one twelfth of the Borough, which will include supervising, inspecting and monitoring contractors working for the Council. You will also play an active role in dealing with emergencies that may affect the highway and the residents of Bexley.
The post is career graded and your starting salary will depend upon your qualifications and experience. An engineering or construction based qualification of ONC/BTEC or higher is desirable.
In order to carry out site inspections the applicants must be mobile around the Borough and be competent in all aspects of administration pertinent to the post. These are excellent and rare opportunities to develop a career, both technically and professionally to which full support and training will be provided.
The Council offer excellent training opportunities and have a strong commitment towards personal development, so if you are enthusiastic and committed to succeed and want to progress your career with a forward thinking Council, then look no further.
This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
