Housing Regeneration Programme Officer

Location: 24 Denmark Road, Carshalton

​You will play a key role in the development and delivery of the Sutton Town Centre Masterplan, in particular the potential regeneration of town centre housing estates to improve neighbourhoods and deliver additional housing, reflecting our ambitions for growth and an attractive and vibrant locality with high quality public realm.

You will carry out a range of functions covering all aspects of housing estate regeneration including resident engagement activities, procurement and clienting of specialist consultancy support, options appraisals, housing needs assessments and re-housing, and work to support achievement of Compulsory Purchase Orders.

You will work collaboratively with residents and communities, elected members, senior colleagues and relevant partners to understand their requirements and expectations and to develop and deliver a programme which supports the Council’s goals and statutory responsibilities.

You will lead on all aspects of planning our consultation and engagement with residents, including options appraisals and feasibility studies which reflect Government and Council policy and stakeholder requirements.

You will ensure sound financial management of projects, overseeing the preparation of capital and revenue budgets, monitoring reports and financial returns to the council and external funders. You will manage the risks register for all the team’s projects, escalating issues as necessary.

Experience required

  • The role will require substantial and successful experience in a programme management post within the area of housing and regeneration or related professional fields
  • You will have a successful track record of collaborative working with residents and communities, businesses, council members and partners to ensure we meet our regeneration objectives.
  • You must be able to plan, manage and control multiple project schedules and oversee the completion of deliverables within budget and timescale deadlines.
