HR Advisor- maternity cover

Kent Fire & Rescue Service are seeking to appoint an HR Adviser for maternity cover to join their HR Strategy & Policy team where you will make a contribution to bringing about change through the review and development of HR policies and procedures. This is a temporary vacancy for 6-9 months.

Primarily you will research, develop and review HR policies and procedures to ensure they remain legally up to date and are fit for purpose with best practice guidelines taken into account.

You will join a small team which also has responsibility for job evaluation, pensions and coordinating corporate diversity and equality issues. You will provide professional advice and support to line managers which will include taking part in the delivery of local training workshops.

Ideally you will have experience in the application of human resource management principles which is supported by a relevant HR qualification. Skills in job analysis and evaluation are desirable, as is a knowledge of equality and diversity related legislation and issues.
