Our Human Resources team plays a critical advice-giving and business partnering role to our operating businesses throughout all strands of HR: Recruitment and Selection, Employee Relations, Payroll, People and Organisational Development as well as Reward.

As HR Disputes Manager you will ensure employment disputes within MHP are managed proactively, expediently and within policy guidelines. To investigate or support investigations into complex matters and / or cases concerning senior managers, in order to conclude in the best interests for the business. To support mediation between aggrieved parties as appropriate. To develop complimentary standard approaches to support relevant MHP employee relations policies. To support coaching and upskilling of all management groups within MHP.

It is essential the successful candidate has extensive experience in managing disputes at a formal level (case management and support), along with supporting dispute resolution through mediation. You will have HR management experience, including working with senior managers on performance management, employee relations and staff/management development and will have in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of current and proposed employment law and its application through policies and procedures in a business-facing operational Human Resources function. Leadership, team-working skills and good motivational are essential, as are good business skills and experience of managing and championing change, persuading and influencing key players.

You will have extensive experience of working with minimal supervision and guidance and will have the ability to work autonomously and under pressure from conflicting demands and will have experience of employee/Trades Union mediation skills. The individual will have experience of devising and implementing new processes/initiatives and will have a pro-active, participative and flexible approach to problem solving, taking the initiative by evaluating, making suggestions and generating new ideas to improve working methods and levels of performance and will have the ability to meet the flexible needs of case management requirements.

The individual will ideally be educated to degree level and will have membership (by examination) of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. It is desirable the candidate has had formal mediation training and has experience within a range of organisations and sectors as well an understanding of the housing business.

Contract: Interim – 6 months
Location: London – North and South with travel to Nottingham and Cambridge due to the expected requirements of the role
