We are looking for an interim HR Advisor until 28th February 2011 to be based at one of our Nottingham offices to assist the HR Manager in delivering a pro-active, progressive, innovative and customer-focused Human Resources service. You will also assist in the achieving of business objectives and to drive forward organisational performance.
You will either have membership (by examination) of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development – CIPD or equivalent (desirable) or be working towards CIPD qualification (essential).
It is essential that you have HR Advisor experience or similar, including working with managers on performance management, employee relations, resourcing, and staff/management development. You must have good team-working skills and be a strong motivator. You must have experience of working with minimal supervision and guidance. You must also have experience of employee/Trades Union consultation and negotiation processes, requiring good mediation skills and possess the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the issues around diversity and how to maximise its benefit to the management and delivery of services.
You will have an in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of current and proposed employment law and its application through policies and procedures in a business-facing operational Human Resources function. You must also have a clear understanding of customer focus, experience of the delivery of a business-facing service and the regular monitoring of performance standards. A pro-active, participative and flexible approach to problem solving is needed, taking the initiative by evaluating, making suggestions and generating new ideas to improve working methods and levels of performance. You must be computer literate, including experience of Microsoft Windows based products and possess the ability to work autonomously and under pressure from conflicting demands.
It is also desirable that you have good business skills and an understanding of the housing business.

This is an interim position providing Maternity Cover until 28th February 2011
