Craven District Council is looking to recruit a full time Investigative and Compliance Officer to cover maternity absence. The length of the contract will be approximately 12 months.
Your prime responsibility will be to investigate alleged breaches of planning control. You will undertake site visits, assess whether a breach has occurred, and consider the further action that is necessary.
Planning Enforcement in Craven is an important function within the planning process and our committed team works at the sharp end of Planning / Development Management.
This is an interesting and varied role that would suit a highly motivated individual who has a creative approach to problem solving.
Having the right attitude is key to successfully undertaking this post. You will need to be fair, firm and helpful. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are important.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have an understanding of the planning enforcement / development management process, or alternatively have transferable skills in the enforcement of other regulatory functions.
