Contract: Permanent – Full Time – 35 hours

Salary: £27,945 – £29,571 (SO1)

Location: Town Hall Extension, Argyle Street, London. WC1H 8NP

Team: Regeneration and Planning / Development Management

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Planning Officer to join Camden Council’s Regeneration and Planning / Development Management Team.

As a Junior Planning Officer you will be responsible for routine and common planning issues, delivering diagnostic services to resolve problems. This will include pre-application advice, application processing, and correspondence ensuring work is carried out efficiently and effectively to meet the agreed targets, objectives and deadlines.

This role is highly customer focused and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the borough is essential.Key Requirements

Knowledge/Qualifications:

  • Appropriate planning qualification with eligibility for membership of the RTPI
  • Strong maths and english skills
  • Good understanding of customer needs

Skills/Behaviours:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels

Experience:

  • This position is suitable for newly qualified planners
  • Experience in a previous planning role would be advantageous but not essential
