We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lawyer to be responsible for providing high quality legal advice, assistance and representation to the Council on legal matters relating to Property and Planning law.
The successful applicant will play a key role in the Place team, which forms part of a Shared Legal Service with Gravesham Borough Council and covers the following areas of law:
Property, Planning, Commercial (including contracts and procurement), Highways, Civil Litigation, Criminal Litigation, Licensing, Trading Standards, Consumer Protection and Employment.
The team is mostly based at Gun Wharf, Chatham but the team, including the successful applicant, will be required to spend some time at the Gravesham offices.
The successful applicant will comply with quality assurance procedures, service level agreements and performance management requirements in order to meet the expectations of the clients.
You will contribute towards and encourage a culture of learning, knowledge sharing and excellence within Legal Services.
For postholders working in contentious areas of law (including but not limited to Litigation) you will undertake advocacy at civil and criminal courts and at tribunals (eg Employment tribunal)
