Starting Salary: £30,153pa progressing to £32,486 pa (pro rata for part time hours)
30 Hours per Week, Fixed Term/Secondment Contract until March 2018 (Maternity Cover)
Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies (HALS) are recruiting to a Learning & Access Officer who will plan, develop, promote and deliver our learning and community outreach programme; that will support countywide community archives and contribute to income generation through delivery of chargeable services and pursuit of funding opportunities for learning and access projects.
This is an exciting time as we move forward with the delivery of ‘Shared Heritage’, our 10 year strategy to ensure preservation of historic collections, to exploit technology to improve our services and progress digital resources and to work in partnership to increase opportunities for access and learning.
With experience of working in a heritage context such as an archive or museum, and a background in learning, you will be able to use and interpret archive collections creatively and accessibly to inspire, educate, motivate and inform different audiences. Self-motivated, you will have excellent written and verbal communication, project management and partnership working skills. You will have access to private transport, and be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
