Salary:£16,440 - £19,126 per annum pro-rata to hours worked

Required to start as soon as possible for 22.5 hours per week – Term Time Only
Monday to Friday: 9.00-1.30pm

Purpose of the job:
- To work under the instruction and guidance of teaching/senior staff to enable access to learning for a Year 4 pupil with special educational needs (hearing impairment; delayed verbal and written communication skills; low self-esteem)
- To planning learning activities with the class teacher and SENCO
- To assist with the development of learning support materials
- To help with the assessment of the pupil’s progress
- To support with ‘structured play’ at lunchtime (12.30-1.15pm daily)

Essentially, you will:
- Have at least NVQ Level 2 in teaching assistance or equivalent
- Have good, personal literacy/numeracy skills
- Have an understanding of the process of planning for and assessing the progress of pupils with special educational needs
- Have experience of supporting and working with pupils who have special educational needs

Ideally, you will:
- Have experience of or understanding of how to support a child with hearing impairment
- Have experience of working in a primary school
- Have empathy with young children
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Have a good sense of humour!
