St Matthew Academy
St Matthew Academy is a 3-16 yrs Academy situated between Blackheath and central Lewisham. We now wish to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work 31 hours per week with a range of secondary students with special educational needs across KS 3 & 4. The work will be varied and could involve in-class support and 1:1 or small group withdrawal to carry out a variety of programmes overseen by relevant professionals. What we’re looking for
You will need empathy with the needs of the learner, the ability to motivate and to break down learning tasks, a flexible approach to learning and an openness to new ideas.
Good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills are a must.
Previous experience of working in a school and relevant experience or training would be beneficial although not essential.
Salary details and further information
The actual gross salary payable for 31 hours per week, 38.4 weeks per annum commences at £14,380. Full time equivalent is £19,361.
