Hours:Full time, 37 hours per week Temporary, fixed-term contract 6 months

We are seeking two energetic and enthusiastic people to become the Royal Borough Litter Enforcement Officers.

You will be expected to:
• regularly undertake pro-active vehicle or foot patrols to identify breaches of regulatory requirements and carry out enforcement procedures
• issue fixed penalty tickets, either during the course of routine patrols or as a result of a complaint made to the Council, to persons who litter without clearing afterward or in respect of other breaches of environmental legislation
• work with a variety of other agencies within the Borough, Council or across boundaries to develop effective ways of tackling environmental crimes
• undertake other duties compatible with the nature of the post as required, some of which may be outside of regular office working hours and may include early morning, late at night, weekends etc.

You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal tactfully with a wide range of people. You must be confident at working independently, with minimum supervision and be prepared to take responsibility for decision making. An understanding of Environmental legislation in relation to enforcement would be an advantage.
