The Council operates four street markets in Hoddesdon and Waltham Cross town centres. The Market Inspector plays a key role in ensuring that the weekly markets run in accordance with the licence conditions. Duties will include liaison with traders to ensure licence conditions are adhered to, appropriate goods are sold, pitch fees are paid, allocation of pitches to new/casual traders and ensuring that the market area remains clean and tidy throughout the operation.

The successful applicant will be dealing with market traders, shopkeepers and the public. Experience in a similar role or previous experience as a market trader would be an advantage but is not essential. The post holder will spend the majority of their time outside and should be prepared to work in all weathers.
