As the Council has a normal retirement age of 65, the maximum age for recruiting new employees will usually be 64 1/2.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead on a project centred on the housing choices of new migrants within Newham in east London.
You will gather data through structured interviews to provide information on the impact of new communities on neighbourhoods and statutory services and assist in improving the quality safety and choice of residential accommodation. You will be responsible for delivering the key project outputs and work with voluntary and statutory partners bodies. The project is based in the Private Sector Housing Group within the Housing & Public Protection Division of Newham Council. An extensive knowledge of the law is required as it relates to both housing and migration, along with an understanding of the issues facing migrant communities and familiarity with the role of local government in the regulation and control of housing standards.
