Reading Borough Council has an ambitious programme of refurbishments to ensure our housing stock meets the required high standard of maintenance. Due to this increasing programme of work the Property Services Teams are looking to further build its multi-skilled operatives to work within the Voids Team.
We are looking for a trade operative that is skilled, highly motivated and keen to work in a fast moving and constantly evolving public sector.
You will need to be a good communicator with City and Guilds or equivalent qualification as well as other basic skills and be able to demonstrate relevant experience within the construction industry.
You will be subject to a pay and productivity scheme and the teams performance will be monitored against other sections and partnered contractors undertaking similar work. In return you will receive a generous salary depending on skills ability and experience. You will be contracted to work a 37 hour week and you will be given 25 days paid leave rising to 30 days after ten years service. In addition a tool allowance is paid monthly and a vehicle will be provided for work use.
