An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. We are looking for an innovative, flexible and experienced museum or arts professional to join the management team of the Royal Borough’s newly formed Library and Resident Services unit. You will manage a team responsible for delivering arts, museum and local studies services to residents, reaching out to adults and children to encourage more use and use by a wider range of customers of the Library and Resident Services via the Windsor & Royal Borough Museum, Borough libraries, schools, and arts centres or other venues as appropriate.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Museum and monitoring of the service delivery contracts with the Borough’s arts delivery or heritage partners you will positively impact a high profile element of our services. Working closely with the Library and Museum Outreach and Stock Team Leader you will be required to provide an exciting programme of events in the museum, libraries or other venues to contribute to Service income targets. You will also need to be able to provide advice and support for the Royal Borough’s heritage and arts partners from time-to-time.
A keen interest in local history and appropriate experience of heritage projects and managing volunteers will be valuable, as will knowledge of the history of Windsor & the Royal Borough. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to working with teams.
The successful candidate must be passionate about delivering excellent service at all time.
