The Role

We are currently looking to recruit to a pool of NQTs which our schools will use as part of their recruitment processes.

Brent is a wonderfully diverse borough with many Beacon and high achieving schools. Our headteachers are effective managers and encourage professional development, which contributes to our high teacher retention rate.

Our services extend beyond your initial appointment and we will provide you with advice and support to help you begin your teaching career:

• we provide an excellent induction and mentor scheme for all NQTs

• full range of support services, e.g. language, special needs, reading, EMTAS, interest free loan for the purchase of season tickets

• assistance in finding affordable, rented accommodation through the accommodation register

• opportunities for paid supply work in July 2012 (approx £100 per day)

• excellent opportunities for promotion

• commitment to inclusive education.

Additionally, Brent is an Inner London Borough, and therefore all teachers are paid on the Inner London Pay Scale – minimum starting salary for September 2011 is £27,000 this is likely to be increased for September 2012.

We run NQT pools for both Primary and Secondary schools and look forward to applications whatever key stage you are looking to teach in.

We will arrange for successful applicants to be interviewed by Headteachers in the borough, giving you contact with schools right from the off.

After that, we will pass your details to all of the schools in the borough saving you time and effort, and making sure your application receives the maximum attention.

For an information and application pack, please visit our website on www.brent.gov.uk/jobs and apply online. For more information contact us on 020 8937 4000 or

We look forward to hearing from you.
