This post requires an individual with considerable professional and interpersonal skills with an understanding of the corporate needs of the Service. Our staff are the most valuable resource we have and therefore dealing with the issues surrounding health, safety and well being are a daily responsibility. The successful candidate will assist managers in reaching targets in line with our commitment to be an employer of choice.

Key responsibilities of the post will include:

  • Facilitating the health programme including medical examination at pre-entry stage and throughout the career of a variety of staff
  • Working with Borough Commanders and senior managers to achieve positive outcomes with regard to a healthy workforce
  • Reviewing, drafting, preparing and formulating policy/procedural documentation for presentation to senior managers
  • Visiting staff based at a variety of sites in East Sussex for which travel throughout the county outside of usual working hours will be required. A current full driving licence is essential.

We are looking for applications from Qualified RGN’s who have completed a post-registered qualification in OH Nursing, which is recorded with the UKCC, together with experience of running a successful OH Service within a diverse organisation, using the appropriate ethical codes. A sound knowledge of legislation and risk assessment in relation to health and safety issues, in a safety critical environment, is also required.
