Occupational Therapist – SDS Team

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced qualified Occupational Therapist to be part of the multi-disciplinary Self-Directed Support team within the Adult Care Service.

You will manage a caseload and carry out Occupational Therapy assessments within people’s homes to maximise functional independence including complex equipment provision, manual handling and minor adaptations. You will also provide guidance and support to non-OT/qualified team members and, where appropriate older people, adults with disabilities and their carers to facilitate assessments enabling self-directed support and personal budgets in order to meet assessed outcomes.

You will receive regular professional supervision and access to training to enhance CPD.

This role is demanding and busy, so good organisational and IT skills are important in ensuring timely delivery of identified interventions. You will need to demonstrate an ability to work in collaboration with other disciplines and our partner agencies and have experience of commissioning services other than equipment. An Occupational Therapy BSc (Hons) is a requirement for this post.
