Essex Probation is a high performing organisation which became a Trust in April 2010. We employ over 500 staff serving a population of 1.6 million and have the challenging task of reducing re-offending to make Essex a safer place. We currently have opportunities for Offender Managers to join our teams across the County.
We are currently seeking applications from individuals who want to train to become qualified Offender Managers at Level 4 (Probation Officers). To be eligible to apply you must hold a relevant Single Honours degrees or Combined Honours Degree where at least 50% is one of the four relevant degrees and the combined element is in social science, law or psychology.
The four relevant degrees are:

Employed as an Offender Manager you will work directly with offenders, assessing their needs to achieve community reintegration, monitoring their progress to achieve successful completion of orders, preparing documentation and assessing their risk to the public. Once you have successfully completed your probationary period, you will commence the Graduate Diploma in Community Justice.
Essex is a high employment area and there is an expectation that operational staff work some evenings and weekends to meet the needs of offenders.
You will be required to demonstrate that you are highly organised with good communication, interpersonal, administration and IT skills and able to successfully coordinate a wide variety of activities to meet a range of conflicting priorities.
As well as a competitive salary, other benefits include generous annual leave entitlement and a final salary pension scheme. We offer excellent training and development opportunities and a commitment to support you whilst undertaking this qualification.
Closing date for completed application forms: 12noon on Friday 15th June 2012
Interviews will be held on 28th June, 4th July and 11th July 2012
