Location:Based in Weston-super-Mare 

North Somerset Youth Offending and Prevention Service is a successful delivery arm of the local multi-agency youth offending partnership. A range of projects deliver statutory and targeted interventions to young people, carers and families; and services to the victims of crime. Preventing offending/re-offending, managing risk and safeguarding young people are core business aims.

The Operational Manager is a key post in ensuring overall operational effectiveness in accordance with quality assurance standards. The ability to lead and deliver on time limited pieces of work; and deputise for the YOS Manager are critical. The Operational Manager will also have lead responsibility for Out-of-Court disposals and targeted work with young people at high risk of entering the Criminal Justice System.

You will need:

  • Degree with a professional qualification.
  • Significant post qualifying experience.
  • Specialist knowledge of Criminal Justice and Child Care legislation; and understanding and application of specialist practice guidance.

This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitations of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.
