What will this involve?

Our new Outcome and Development Officer roles will be key in supporting and implementing all elements of Camden’s VCS investment and support programme and as such will provide a varied and challenging workload. You could be involve in:

  • Working with funded organisations tackling social inequality to measure and articulate their outcomes
  • Building relationships with community centres and help build their capacity and develop their offer to the community
  • Advising and nurturing innovative projects aimed at tackling ingrained social issues
  • Supporting organisations that are promoting new and established forms of volunteering, giving and exchange
  • Encouraging and embedding best practice for working with the VCS across Camden Council and other partners
  • Supporting orgnisations to demonstate the impact that the council’s investment is making and many more!

Background and context

Camden Council has just launched a new three year investment and support programme for voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations operating in the borough. At the heart of this new approach is a commitment to act as lead for the council in promoting collaborate relationships between the public sector and VCS, recognising and understanding the social value of VCS services, and developing robust and sustainable provision for local residents.

We are looking for 2 Outcomes Development Officers to join our Communities and Third Sector team, and help us deliver a funding programme that delivers genuine impact and value for some of the most vulnerable residents in our borough.

Key Requirements

  • Knowledge of established and contemporary approaches to outcomes monitoring and evaluation techniques, with an openness to explore and develop new approaches
  • Experience of using a variety of techniques and approaches (for example business planning and remodelling, fundraising and income generation) to support the development of VCS organisations and markets.
  • Be able to use creative thinking and co-production techniques to develop effective relationships with VCS organisations and other external partners
  • Understanding and experience of working with VCS organisations and the role that they have in the well being and quality of life of individuals and communities.
  • Be able to build support with VCS organisations and other external agencies to develop trusting and productive relationships as equal partners.
