CHILDREN’S SERVICE

We are committed to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.

The Parent Partnership Service offers impartial, support and advice to parents of children with special educational needs.

You will be part of a small but busy team that supports parents who request help with the processes involved in a variety of issues to do with education. It is a demanding role that requires you to be able to work with sensitive information, have outstanding interpersonal skills and work well under pressure.

It is essential that you can work as part of a team as well as independently. You will have superb communication skills, be confident in speaking to large groups of people and be happy to travel all over the Borough. Computer literate, you will need to be flexible as attendance at some early morning and evening meetings is required.

With experience in working either in a school, educational or advice giving setting, you will have a demonstrable understanding of the law pertaining to all aspects of educational legislation and to Special Educational Needs in particular.

Interview dates: Tuesday, 30 March and Wednesday, 31 March 2010.
