Location:Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent 

Main Purpose of Job

To ensure effective commissioning of services to support the delivery of good quality value for money health and social care services in Medway.

To ensure commissioned services are informed by structured analysis of needs and demands, clear plans for implementation, good liaison with the procurement and market elements of the process and effective service monitoring and reporting processes.

To project manage the commissioning of services in a specialist area or a thematic area across children and adults.

To use data and other assessment made through visits and feedback to effectively evaluate the impact of commissioned services on the health and well being of the target groups and contribute this information to the strategic needs assessment that underpins the key strategies of the partnership commissioning team.

To develop and engage in effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers, ensuring that services provided are supported and used by the target community through effective communication and engagements with relevant professionals

To make effective analysis of data and assessment information, to secure robust evidence of performance and impact to make accurate and objective judgements to enable performance management and to inform future commissioning decisions

Ensure that all commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with legislation, national local and partnership policy and procedures, and are applied using the principles of good practice including ethics and probity and take account of safeguarding policy and standards.

Identify and pursue opportunities for maximising income including making bids for external funding as appropriate.

As a Partnership Commissioning Manager, ensure that own areas work successfully navigates the commissioning frameworks of both organisations, delivering against the agreed priority outcomes and the overarching Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy
