Peer Recovery Worker
Based in Grange Park Road, London
£15,615 to £16,025 Per Annum
37 Hours per Week
Due to ongoing growth we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to work as part of a dedicated team in our Waltham Forest Mental Health Projects. The nature of the role is to assist in the provision of a quality support service to adults with complex mental health needs. WFMHP is a group of schemes which accommodates 42 service users; the schemes provide a supportive and stable environment in which residents are supported in their recovery journey to successfully move on to independent living. Residents are supported in areas of; emotional needs, housing, living skills and employment and training.
You should have an understanding of the issues affecting people with mental health needs and have personal lived experience of mental distress and personal recovery. You will contribute to the review of individuals support plans, assist in identifying barriers to recovery and set recovery goals, support and motivate service users to improve their confidence and provide direct emotional and practical peer support to services users.
We are looking for someone who has personal confidence and an engaging manner . Knowledge of Health & Safety standards is also desirable. Ongoing training is provided and staff are encouraged to gain nationally recognised qualifications, such as an NVQ.
