Rainer Crime Concern is working with over 34,000 young people in 150 neighbourhoods across the UK. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time as we bring together our two charities to help young people stay safe and make the most of their lives and so create safer and more vibrant communities.
Our Surrey 21plus service provides a range of tailored services to enable disadvantaged and under-supported young people to lead emotionally and physically secure and fulfilled lives.
Rainer Surrey Services works in Partnership with Surrey County Council and provides support to previously Looked After Children and those Leaving Care aged 18-24 years.
The role requires you to have:
Good basic standard of education.
The ability to write clear concise reports and to express self clearly.
An awareness of current issues relating to socially excluded young people.
An understanding of Housing Departments’ responsibilities to young people.
The ability to sustain good working relationships with young people aged 20+, who were formally looked after by the local authority, their carers and support networks.
The ability to participate in the provision of a direct work service to care leavers, aged 20+ towards facilitating their transition to adulthood and independence from local authority care.
Good organisational and administrative skills
Ability to identify risk and seek guidance when necessary
Operate within the framework of legislation and guidance (i.e. Children Leaving Care Act) and local Leaving Care procedures.
Current driving license and use of car essential
