Personal Assistant to Divisional Director
1 year fixed-term
Newham is one of London’s most diverse boroughs and host to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are looking for talented individuals who share our commitment to making Newham a place where people choose to live,
work and stay.
Working at the centre of the organisation you will provide comprehensive personal support to up to two Divisional Directors. Each Director
has a high profile role, both internal and external to the organisation and you will play a key role in managing relations, ensuring the borough’s reputation is maintained and that the Directors are able to focus on the strategic
management of the organisation.
A highly motivated and organised individual with excellent communication, organisation and diary management skills, you will have responsibility
for ensuring both Directors’ time is used to maximum effect, ensuring they are fully prepared and briefed. Working in a demanding and challenging role you will need to be able to operate both as part of a team and using your
own initiative.
This is an ideal opportunity to gain experience and knowledge of the wide range of work undertaken by Newham Council. If you think you have the drive
and the right skills then this is the opportunity to further develop your career and gain experience in a busy and ambitious organisation.
The Council reserves the right to close adverts early if there is a large response.
Equal Opportunities
The London Borough of Newham recognises that everyone in Newham has the right to play a full part in the life of the borough. This means that everyone should have equal access to council services, job opportunities and to having their voices heard.
It is the council’s position that everyone should be treated fairly, without discrimination and with respect of their human rights, regardless of their gender, race, age, disability, sexual orientation, HIV status, religion, national or social origin or class.
