Lambeth is an exciting and vibrant borough and one which offers a wide and varied range of work. It is dynamic and fascinating in terms of the range of its locations with world class architects, leading developers and several renowned cultural institutions working in partnership with the Council. Stretching from Waterloo and Vauxhall in the north to Streatham and Norwood in the south, Lambeth is unique in the range of prominent riverside development opportunities. The borough has a distinctive mix of edgy, vibrant central London night-time and cultural locations (with Brixton and Clapham continuing to emerge as leading destinations) along with a track record of delivering superb facilities for inner suburban areas such as the Streatham Hub Development. Working as part of a team, the successful candidates will deal with a variety of planning applications such as shop fronts, adverts and householder extensions and Lawful Development Certificates. They will also be instrumental in delivering Planning Performance Agreements - an area of the service which has seen considerable growth over the last 3-4 years. The successful candidates will support this development at a junior level, shadowing and supporting specific sites. This is a great opportunity to develop your negotiation and technical skills. You will be given the opportunity to deal with appeals and more complex applications as your experience develops. The closing date for receiving your completed application form will be Sunday 26 February 2017 at midnight.
